Sauna master quick start

Welcome to SaunaPlanet! This guide walks you step by step from the invitation to a public profile and your first event. Each section is a single short task — you can come back here any time.

1. How to claim your profile

SaunaPlanet has prepared a sauna master profile for you. The invitation you receive contains a link to the profile claim page.

  1. Open the link from the invitation — you will see the prepared profile.
  2. Sign in or create an account (section 2).
  3. Click “Claim profile”. From that moment the profile is linked to your account and only you manage it.

Important: claiming the profile does not publish it. The profile becomes public only after you complete it, submit it and it is approved by moderation (sections 4–5).

The invitation link is single-use, has an expiry date and works like a key to your profile — do not pass it to anyone. If the link has expired or does not work, request a new invitation (section 10).

2. How to sign in or create an account

To claim the profile you need a regular SaunaPlanet account. On the claim page you can sign in or register without leaving this page.

  1. Have an account? Sign in with your e-mail address and password.
  2. No account yet? Register. After registering, confirm your e-mail address (activation link), then open the invitation link once more.

3. How to enter Studio

Studio is your workspace: profile, publication and events. After claiming the profile you enter it with the “Go to Studio” button, and later at any time:

  1. Sign in to SaunaPlanet.
  2. Open the account menu and choose Studio.
  3. You can also go directly to /studio.

Studio works right after you claim the profile — even before moderation approves your sauna master profile.

4. How to complete your profile

You edit your profile in Studio, in the Profile tab. Publication requires:

  • full name,
  • city or area of activity,
  • the “About me” field (at least 80 characters),
  • profile photo,
  • at least one specialty.

Recommended fields (a custom profile address, languages, links to websites and social media) do not block publication, but strengthen your profile. The “Path to publication” card in Studio shows in real time what is still missing.

5. How preview and publication work

  1. Preview: in Studio you can always view your profile exactly as others will see it. Until the profile is published, only you can see the preview.
  2. Submission: once the required fields are filled in, submit the profile for publication with the button in Studio. Until a decision is made you can withdraw the submission.
  3. Moderation: moderation may approve the profile or request changes — you will see the message with the reasons in Studio. After making corrections you submit the profile again.
  4. Publication: once approved, the profile is publicly visible in the sauna master directory.

Note: a significant edit to a published profile (e.g. changing the description or photo) temporarily hides it from the directory — it returns after it is approved again by moderation. This is normal behaviour, not a bug. A profile with suspended publication cannot be published on your own — contact support (section 10).

6. What the moderation statuses mean

  • Draft

The profile is not publicly visible. Fill in the required fields and submit it for publication.

  • Submitted for moderation

The profile is awaiting moderation review. It stays private until it is approved.

  • Moderation requested changes

Moderation requested changes. Once you have made them, submit the profile again.

  • Published

The profile is publicly visible in the sauna master directory.

  • Publication suspended

Publication has been suspended by moderation. Please contact the administrators.

7. How to add an event

You can add events once your sauna master profile has been approved by moderation.

  1. Enter Studio and open the My events tab.
  2. Click “Create event”.
  3. Provide the required information: facility, name and date. You can add a time, price, capacity and description.
  4. Save — what happens next with the event is described in section 8.

You do not need an affiliation with a facility to add an event there. Facilities can also invite you to their own events — you accept or decline the invitation in the My events tab. A single event may feature several sauna masters.

Participants sign up for your event on SaunaPlanet — a free reservation of a spot, not a ticket. As the organizer you confirm the sign-ups.

Correcting or cancelling an active event: in the current pilot version of the app, changes to an already active event are made by SaunaPlanet support — contact us (section 10). This is a temporary procedure for the duration of the pilot.

8. Events at managed and unmanaged facilities

  • Managed facility (has its own steward on SaunaPlanet): your event reaches it as a proposal for acceptance. Until a decision is made you can withdraw it; it becomes public after acceptance.
  • Unmanaged facility: the event is active immediately, and you are its organizer.

Only active events are publicly visible — on the map, on the events page and on your profile.

9. Sessions: one-off and recurring series

A session is a single ceremony at a set time, e.g. an Aufguss. You add sessions in Studio, in the My sessions tab. Guests see them in the facility’s schedule and on your profile.

  1. Enter Studio, open the My sessions tab and click “Add session”.
  2. Choose the facility and the type: “One-off” (a single date) or “Recurring” (chosen weekdays, every week or every 2 weeks, for up to 92 days).
  3. Set the time, length and session type (e.g. herbal, ice). Sauna, session name and description are optional.
  4. For a series you see a preview of all dates before you add it.

When a session goes public: if you have an approved affiliation with the facility, the session (or the whole series) is published immediately. Without an affiliation the facility decides: if it requires approval of sauna masters’ sessions, the session waits for approval (status “Awaiting approval”) and becomes public only after it; otherwise it is published immediately.

Managing a series: you can change the time, places or description of a single session or of “this and following” ones, cancel one session or the series from a chosen day, and extend a series by 3 months when it is about to end.

You can invite another sauna master to a session or series (leads, assists or appears as a guest). Until they accept, they are not shown publicly.

10. How to get help

Need help?

Contact the person who prepared your profile and sent you the SaunaPlanet invitation. This is a temporary support path during the pilot.

In your request please include:

  • a short description of the problem,
  • the page where the problem occurred,
  • a screenshot — with passwords and profile-claim links hidden.

Do not send your password or an active profile-claim link.

11. Security rules

  • Never share your account password with anyone — nobody from SaunaPlanet will ever ask for it.
  • Do not share an active profile claim link with anyone — it works like a key to your profile.
  • On screenshots you send to support, hide passwords and invitation links.
  • If you suspect someone unauthorized has used your link or account, contact support as soon as possible (section 10).
